學校簡介：
悉尼大學（The University of Sydney）始建於1850年🤦🏽🚺，是坐落於澳洲金融之都悉尼市中心的一所世界頂尖高等學府。作為整個澳洲及大洋洲的第一所大學，悉尼大學同時也是澳大利亞八大名校聯盟G8的核心成員，國際著名研究型大學聯盟組織環太平洋大學聯盟、亞太國際貿易教育暨研究聯盟的成員之一🦥。根據澳洲政府官方整理的資料，1/3的澳洲諾貝爾獎得主為悉尼大學校友，這一數字遙遙領先於澳洲其他大學，領跑著整個澳大利亞的科學與技術的發展。
不僅如此🤴🏿，一個半世紀以來，悉尼大學畢業生還一直牢牢掌控著澳洲的政治與經濟命脈。校友包括的八位澳大利亞總理⏰，聯合國大會主席🙎🏽♂️🏃🏻♀️，世界銀行總裁🛀🏻，六位聯邦大法官中的三位，二十三位最高法院法官；同時，現任澳洲央行RBA行長🗯，麥格理投資銀行集團總裁等知名政商界人士均畢業於悉尼大學🩺。
主講人簡介：
Dr Michael Spence, Vice-Chancellor and Principal
As Vice-Chancellor, Dr Michael Spence is the University of Sydney's principal executive officer. He leads the University and determines its overall direction in consultation with the Senate, the Senior Executive Group (SEG) and Academic Board. He also plays a major role in nurturing and sustaining the University’s relationships with its many key external stakeholder groups, including alumni, donors, local, state and federal governments, and leaders in business, industry and the professions.
Dr Spence enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Sydney in 1982. After graduating with first-class honours in English and Italian in 1985, and a Bachelor of Law with honours in 1987, he lectured in law at the University and worked for the Australian Copyright Council.
He moved to the University of Oxford in 1988 where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology. He then went on to become a Fellow of St Catherine’s College at the University of Oxford.
During his 20 years at St Catherine’s Dr Spence also headed the law faculty and the Social Sciences division, one of the four that make up the University of Oxford.
In July 2008, he returned to take up the role of Vice Chancellor at the University of Sydney.
Dr Spence is internationally recognised as a leader in the field of intellectual property theory and has also published works on the law of obligations, with a critical focus on suggested ethical and economic justifications of existing regimes.
